Band GIVVEN explore forbidden love with the ‘Losing Colours’ music video

Like a wave of emotion crashing over your mind, GIVVEN’s music video for ‘Losing Colours’ is a visually gripping spectacle that ponders on love that cannot be. The video has elements of sci-fi with a suggestive invisible force field preventing the two lovers from embracing each other with disjointed, erratic, and tension fuelled body language. Like the lyrics of the song and seeing this visual display, one can conclude that there is still love between the two souls despite the external factors pulling them away from each other.

Beautifully tragic, director Rupert Höller showcases the figurative symbolism of the song’s message out in a literal sense with the music video choreography. Talent of all forms are displayed in this cinematic-like music video, which tells the timeless story of forbidden love and trying to make things work at all costs.

Not to be too sentimental, but since it was the month of love I think this video couldn’t have come at a better time. This track and video is an ode to all those who have loved dearly, and have had their hearts ripped apart due to internal or external factors.
