ICONIC TRIO KARMACODA UNVEIL ‘HOLD’ FROM THEIR ALBUM YOU AND I

On July 26, 2024, the acclaimed San Francisco trio KARMACODA released their latest album, You and I, through Sola Musa Music. The group, consisting of Jessica Ford (vocals), Brett Crockett (vocals and producer), and Eric Matsuno (bass and unique elements), is celebrated for their genre-blending style, encompassing electronica, chill, trip-hop, R&B, rock, and dream pop over their two-decade career. Their evolving sound, blending R&B and jazz lounge, draws comparisons to artists like Adele, Lana Del Rey, and Massive Attack. KARMACODA has received praise from Wonderland Magazine, CLASH Magazine, NOTION, EARMILK, Magnetic Mag, Hotpress, and METAL Magazine, and their music has been featured on NPR Music and RTÉ 2XM. Their work has also been included in film and TV scores, earning them several awards including Hermes Creative Awards (Platinum), Unglued Music Video (Gold), and three Davey Awards.

The album’s focus track ‘Hold’ showcases KARMACODA’s mastery. It captures the longing and heartache of separation with heartfelt lyrics and a poignant instrumental arrangement. Featuring gentle guitar riffs, a steady drum beat, shimmering tambourine, and Jessica’s ethereal vocals, it’s a powerful and introspective love letter.

Brett (aka B.) shared: “Hold is about a longing for a love that what once was, maybe, and thoughts on what it could still be.  We each have such thoughts and memories in our lives, “what could have been if we had held on to what we were, imagined or not, “hold on to me, hold on to we.”
