Tate McRae’s feisty single ‘GREEDY’ takes over TIKTOK

Tate McRae‘s empoweringly irresistible track, ‘Greedy’, is taking the internet by storm. Released through RCA Records on September 15, it’s the lead single off of her forthcoming, second studio album Think Later. The recent release from the Canadian pop-star has already garnered over 260 million streams on Spotify and peaked at #14 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Tate McRae recently described ‘Greedy’ as a “cool female empowerment song” which she adoringly poured herself into. Going on to mention that the song marks the first time her audience has seen a “feistier and more playful side” of her. Having first been teased to her fans on TikTok back in August, the track has since gone viral on the video-sharing platform with over 200,000 videos posted with the song from across different accounts. Billboard writer, Kyle Denis, noted that the song is a “successful example of a concerted TikTok-focused promotional plan”, since it was brought to success by McRae slowly teasing out song segments, instead of following a random trend.

Immediately successful and popular around the world, the song has peaked at #1 throughout Europe; in Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, Greece, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Norway as well as in the UAE. While placing on the Top Ten Charts in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, New Zealand, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
