Chloë Wilson Unveils New Single ‘Broken Me’ with a Timeless Yet Fresh Sound

On July 11, 2025, Chloë Wilson dropped her debut single Broken Me, the first taste of her anticipated EP set for release on October 24, 2025. Hailing from Milton Keynes, this self-taught singer-songwriter soaked up the sounds of Fleetwood Mac, Donna Summer, and Led Zeppelin growing up, shaping her into a self-styled “70s pop princess.” Her journey from busking on London’s streets to commanding stages in northern pubs and canal boats has honed a sound that’s raw yet polished, with Broken Me cementing her as a fresh voice in indie pop.

The pop landscape has been dominated by relentless, high-energy beats for years, often sidelining the mid-tempo ballad’s ability to breathe and resonate. Broken Me, a piano-driven track crafted over six years from Chloë’s teenage years, fills this gap with its deliberate pacing and emotional clarity. Drawing on the dramatic sweep of Adele and Tori Amos, it delivers a narrative of heartbreak’s lingering questions with a modern edge. Mid-tempo songs like this, rooted in piano and honest lyricism, allow listeners to connect deeply, offering pop a chance to slow down and prioritise substance over flash, which strengthens the genre’s emotional range and staying power.

Chloë Wilson shared: “This song for me was like a letter that I never got to send, all these questions I had, and couldn’t find the answers to.” With ‘Broken Me’, she’s not just introducing herself but signaling a shift toward more introspective pop. As her EP approaches, this single sets a high bar for what’s to come.
