Marianna Winter balances charisma and craft in ‘Consequences’

Tutl Records signee Marianna Winter doesn’t take herself too seriously, an appealing quality for a musician to possess, particularly if the craft is, conversely, taken seriously. It shows a degree of showmanship and dedication. And her latest song, ‘Consequences’, illustrates that she can strike the balance.
Winter’s latest release exhibits this dichotomy, being a crisp, thoroughly-written record; one can hear that she applied effort, making the song the best she could make it, paying attention to the nuances of her vocal delivery.
On the other end, she has unveiled a comical music video, which, although isn’t a serious piece, does make a statement: she has applied the chartered-tropes woman play on the movie screen to a group of half-naked men to highlight how strange these tropes are. “We started playing with the idea of reenacting different famous movie scenes, but switching gender roles to simultaneously portray how messed up women are portrayed on screen,” she shared.
