Based in Los Angeles, JOHNNYSWIM is comprised of musical partners Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez, daughter of the legendary “Queen of Disco”, Donna Summer. Over their two-decade career, the duo has amassed over 575 million streams and graced major television programs, including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, and CBS Mornings.
Known for their raw, emotive storytelling, JOHNNYSWIM brings their signature introspection to the 11-track album, exploring themes of growth, resilience, and release during life’s most challenging moments. Produced by Abner Ramirez, mixed by Raul Lopez, and mastered by Jonathan Grant Berlin, When The War is Over is a testament to their evolution as artists.
The lead single, ‘Dopamine’, features acclaimed rapper, singer, and actor Tobe Nwignwe, who sets a smooth, contemplative tone before Amanda and Abner’s vocals tie in with a mix of pain, relief, and euphoria. With shimmering guitar melodies, powerful drum work, and a pulsating rhythm, the track tells a story of profound transformation and the strength found in self-reflection.
