London-raised indie folk artist Seth Tabatznik put out ‘Shining for Love’ on Moth Music (Mother Of The Heart) just a few days back, on November 7, 2025. It follows ‘Choose To Be Alive’, which got props from CLASH Magazine, and keeps his quick rise going. Since his debut in 2024, he’s pulled in over 100,000 streams across platforms like Spotify and Bandcamp, sold out live shows at prestigious venues like Boschendal Estate in Cape Town, South Africa, and packed Green Note in London’s Camden. A second album is set for 2026, putting Tabatznik firmly on indie folk’s watchlist, with his grounded acoustics and live-wire presence.
Now settled in South Africa’s Western Cape mountains after days in London, Tabatznik draws his sound from the land and his past experiences.
‘Shining for Love’ plays like a soft field recording turned song. Strummed guitars float with warm strings and faint shakers, all backing Tabatznik‘s steady voice as it leans into the wild’s quiet pull. Just past the halfway point of the track, the tempo picks up, giving way to the Celtic fantasy elements that underpin folk music. It really does make you feel that in the right setting, you could be dancing barefoot on the grass at dusk around a small fire.
Seth Tabatznik told us: “This song came to me in a forest, spoken by the elements around me. It was like nature took my pen and transcribed the lyrics into my notebook, accompanied by a simple 4 chord progression. I love how the song builds and accelerates as a celebration for life, love and nature. This song is all about nature and how her every action comes from a place of love. Every sound, every movement, is her way of expressing herself, as she is one being, of which we are a part, not apart.”
