Ambient electronic muso Mattia Cupelli has released a beautifully meditative new album entitled UNDERNEATH. The young Italian composer has long been charming listeners with his fluid, ambient sounds, and has scored several film soundtracks – with an impressive number of Youtube views in his wake.
The LP features seven tracks, which take the listener on a journey into the unknown, with shifting and stirring sounds buried blended with synthesizer pads and gentle reassuring piano. It’s not often that a composer can truly convey such emotion through their music, but Cupelli is a force in his own right – proving that true power can also lie in gentleness.
