Artistic Powerhouse EMMI IIDA explores the ethereal in new single ‘Blooming’

EMMI IIDA is an internationally recognised Finnish visual artist, holistic interior architect & musician currently based in the countryside of Southern Finland. ‘Blooming’, the first single from her debut album and first major release, is set to be released on the 22nd of September 2023 via EFG Records Oy. This multi-modal artist was exposed to music at a young age and began to play piano at the age of 5 and singing in her early school years. She has hosted solo art exhibitions around the world, founded her own company EFG Productions Oy, and recently founded the very record label that she is releasing her music through. Accelerating her artistic momentum, the track has already gained support from notable tastemaker METAL Magazine.

‘Blooming’ begins with an ambient soundscape of lush synthy chords over which EMMI IIDA’s serene spoken word poetry, gently punctuated by tremolo-thick guitar chords, starts to talk about what it means to be alive in our vast cosmos. The driving, irregular and at times trip hop-esque drums steer the song through different moods – but they’re all ethereal. The contrast between EMMA IIDA’s strong, smoky yet clear spoken voice and her angelic soprano singing makes the listening experience varied and refreshing. Overall, the song is an immersive ambient electronic journey, exemplifying its celestial lyrical content beautifully.
