Q052 Unleashes ‘Loud Sunday’ – A Hip Hop Callout on War and Injustice

Q052 just unleashed his new single ‘Loud Sunday’ on Friday, through Musique Nomade, serving as the third cut from his incoming album Thunder Child, due out October 10, 2025. Building off the momentum of ‘Space Invaders’, which got love from CLASH Magazine, Q052 (aka Quentin Condo) stands out as an award-winning Mi’gmaq artist blending rap with activism. The moniker breaks down to ‘Q’ for Quentin and 052 for his First Nations community’s code. Raised in Gesgapegiag, Gaspésie, and currently in Sherbrooke, he pushes hard for Indigenous causes, spotlighting youth challenges and protections for women and girls. His resume shines with the 2023 International Indigenous Hip-Hop Awards win for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, alongside nominations at the 2021 ADISQ Gala for Indigenous Artist of the Year, dual categories at the 2022 Teweikan Gala (Expressive Music Artist/Group and Blues/Rock Artist/Group), and a GAMIQ slot in 2022 for Hip-Hop Album. Live-wise, he’s shared bills with Cypress Hill, rocked crowds at FEQ, La Noce, OFF Québec, Innu Nikamu, Festival Kwe!, FME, Festival Bleu Bleu, and Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée, and frequents TVA‘s La Tour with his bold delivery.

The track locks into boom bap’s gritty essence, layering heavy bass thumps, moody synths, and a tense melody that builds relentless pressure. Air horn hits pop in strategically, acting as wake-up calls amid the flow. Drawing inspo from eclectic sources like Ty Segall, Immortal Technique, Cypress Hill, Black Sabbath, and Rage Against the Machine, Q052 weaves hip-hop with grunge, alternative rock, and spoken elements, all tied by incisive bars on Indigenous experiences, equity fights, and inner conflicts. Here, he unloads on war’s absurdity and current global atrocities, fueled by deep compassion and resolve.

Q052 revealed: “This song is about the senseless wars that are going on in the world and how society has become so tolerant of the tyrants destroying humanity.”
