Seth Tabatznik Drops Anthemic New Single ‘We Are Walking Home’

Released last week on Moth Music, Seth Tabatznik’s We Are Walking Home’ serves as the last single before his second full-length Awakening Embers arrives February 20. The London-born, South Africa-based artist only began releasing music in 2024, yet he’s already surpassed 200,000 streams and played to packed rooms, including sold-out debuts at Boschendal Estate in Cape Town and Green Note in London’s Camden. Previous singles ‘Shining For Love’ and ‘Choose To Be Alive’ earned spots on CLASH Magazine and EARMILK playlists. Guided by Nick Mulvey during the making of the upcoming album and shaped early on by guitarist Rainer Scheurenbrand, Tabatznik’s sound sits comfortably alongside Paul Simon, Ian Anderson, and Vance Joy in the modern indie-folk lane.

His songs pull from both urban upbringing and current mountain life, mixing acoustic folk with medicine music’s grounding, reverent approach. We Are Walking Home’ opens on a spare, inviting flute before Tabatznik’s calm vocals enter, repeating the central refrain over slowly accumulating guitar, strings, and soft percussion. The track’s turning point comes midway: the initial material reappears in a brighter, rhythmically charged form, infused with clear African instrumentation that echoes the cross-continental feel of classic records like Paul Simon’s Graceland.

Seth Tabatznik shared: “I had this lyric in my head for months: “We are walking home, into the womb of the universe”. I didn’t know what to do with it. Then one day I was just fiddling around on the guitar and the whole song came to me in minutes and I couldn’t stop playing it, imagining African vibes to accompany alike to Paul Simon‘s Graceland. This song is about the times of transformation we are in, the tipping point of all things; a time of chaos and destruction, but also of creativity and rebirth; of coming back into our hearts and remembering.
