Tycho have shared a new video for “Glider” ahead of their European tour which kicks off in Dublin on Thursday.
As an homage to the visionary Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky, Scott incorporated elements of his 1972 film Solaris into the visuals for “Glider.”
“Glider” is featured on the Grammy Award nominated album ‘EPOCH’ and this new video is taken from the band’s mesmerizing live visuals.
Tycho kick off their European tour in Dublin on Thursday. The band will also be playing at London’s Rough Trade East on Friday (details) and headlining London’s prestigious venue, The Roundhouse on Sunday.
They have will also perform in Russia for the first time at Izvestia Hall in Moscow on November 9th.
“As an American kid growing up in the ’80s I never thought I’d get a chance to visit Moscow, let alone play a show there.” Says Scott Hansen, “So much in the world has changed since those days but the power of music to unite people transcends. We’re always grateful to be able to share what we love with people from all over the world and so it is with great honor that we will play Moscow for the first time.”
The dates follow a busy year of touring the world, which has already included dates with The XX and Phantogram along with festival performances at Coachella, Primavera Sound, Sziget, Way Out West and many more.
‘EPOCH’ made an extraordinary chart debut following its surprise release last September, entering Billboard’s “Top Dance/Electronic Albums” at #1 – Tycho’s highest chart placement to date. ‘EPOCH’ also earned a place in Red Bull Music’s “25 Best Albums of 2016” and Dancing Astronaut’s “Top 10 Albums of 2016.”
‘EPOCH’ is available now digitally at all DSPs and streaming services and physical CD and vinyl are available via The Ghostly Store.
